Prompt action by administration on Urla accident, all manufacturing activities of the factory stopped

Raipur, July 08, 2026/A serious industrial accident occurred yesterday in the M/s 3-D Innovation factory located near village Bendri, Urla Industrial Area, Police Station Urla, District Raipur. According to the information received, three workers, Mr. Arun Pandey, Mr. Lal Singh, and Mr. Kamal Singh, working in the ferroalloys division of the factory, died tragically due to a sudden violent explosion in an oxygen cylinder during lancing work in the furnace.

Upon receiving information about the accident, the Department of Industrial Health and Safety immediately reached the spot and inspected the accident site. During the inspection, a detailed examination of the accident site was conducted, necessary evidence was collected, photographs and videographs were taken, and initial inquiries were made with the factory management and workers to commence an investigation into the causes of the accident.

Based on the preliminary investigation and prioritizing the safety of workers, all types of manufacturing activities conducted in the factory premises have been prohibited with immediate effect until further orders, exercising the powers vested under Section 38(1)(a) of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020. A prohibitory order has been issued to the occupier and manager of the factory in this regard.

The Department of Industrial Health and Safety has also directed that during the period of the prohibitory order, the payment of wages and other allowances due to all workers employed in the factory as per rules be ensured on the scheduled dates. With the efforts of the department, the factory management has agreed to provide an immediate financial assistance of Rs 30 lakh each to the families of the deceased workers.

The Department of Industrial Health and Safety is conducting a detailed investigation into the causes of the accident. Necessary legal action will be taken as per rules based on the investigation report and available facts.
