Steps Forward in Economic Partnership After Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai's Japan Visit

Raipur – Significant progress has been made in the economic and industrial partnership between Chhattisgarh and Japan. The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) has featured information on Chhattisgarh’s investment potential and industrial opportunities on its website, increasing the state’s visibility among Japanese companies seeking investment in India and providing details on industrial infrastructure, land and incentives. This progress is the result of the contacts established during Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s investment tour to Japan and South Korea in August 2025 and the continuous efforts of the state government thereafter. During the chief minister’s visit, the government discussed enhancing economic cooperation with JETRO and linking Japanese firms to investment opportunities in Chhattisgarh. In this context, a JETRO delegation visited Chhattisgarh on 28‑29 July 2026, directly observing the state’s industrial ecosystem and investment prospects. The delegation inspected various industrial zones in Naya Raipur and the modern infrastructure available there. They toured the 120‑acre electronics manufacturing cluster in Sector‑22, approved by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), which offers plug‑and‑play facilities, and met representatives of Rezute Electronics, Arham Technologies, Amrit Meditech and Paripath Technologies. They also visited the pharmaceutical park in Sector‑22, the largest pharma park in central India, as well as the ready‑made garment park and mixed‑use industrial park in Sector‑5, interacting with representatives of Aspire Pharma. The textile park in Sector‑22 was also reviewed for apparel manufacturing facilities. In addition to industrial sites, the delegation examined residential zones, healthcare, retail and social infrastructure in Naya Raipur that support international investors and their staff in decision‑making. The delegation held a meeting with Shri Rajat Kumar, Secretary of the Department of Commerce & Industries, where they discussed the state’s industrial policy, sector‑wise investment potential and measures to facilitate Japanese investments. They also interacted with representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Chhattisgarh Chapter to understand the local industrial landscape. After the visit, the Department of Commerce & Industries continued virtual meetings and correspondence with JETRO, sharing detailed information on key industrial areas, available land and policy incentives. Consequently, JETRO has made Chhattisgarh’s investment profile and industrial opportunities available on its website, giving Japanese companies in its network direct access to investment information. The state government will now, with JETRO’s assistance, link interested Japanese companies to opportunities in Chhattisgarh, a vital step towards expanding the state’s global investment reach and building long‑term industrial partnerships.
