State promises continued health expansion, ayurveda institute and cardiac centre

Health Minister Shyam Bahri Jaiswal outlined the state's ambitious roadmap, which includes approval of five new medical colleges, a surge in nursing colleges, and the launch of a 100‑bed yoga and naturopathy hospital with a research centre.

He announced that the pending core projects at Korba, Kanker and Mahasamund medical colleges have now commenced, and that a DM‑cardiac course is already operational.

The government also expects to host an All‑India Institute of Ayurveda in the future, leveraging Chhattisgarh’s rich medicinal plant resources.

In addition, a second largest heart centre is slated for Jagdalpur, reinforcing the state's focus on specialized cardiac care.
