Special medical facilities reach remote Baiga region under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai's leadership sees specialist medical facilities reach the remote Baiga area. In Chhirhitti, a special health camp provided free treatment to 164 villagers, with specialist doctors visiting the village to deliver health services. Sensitive initiatives of the Health Department have brought quality treatment close to Baiga tribal families. Raipur, July 17, 2026 – Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government's commitment to delivering quality health services to every individual is evident on the ground. Accordingly, the Chhattisgarh Health Department organized a special health camp in Chhirhitti (Saalheghori), a remote Baiga tribal hamlet in the Gaurala development block, to ensure health facilities reach the marginalized Baiga community. A team of specialist doctors visited the village, examined residents and provided free treatment, consultations and medicines, allowing people in the distant area to benefit from specialist health services in their own village. Under the guidance of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Rameshwar Sharma, the camp examined and treated a total of 164 villagers. Seasonal disease prevention, timely disease detection and better health facilities were addressed through investigations of various health problems and necessary medical advice. Free medicines were distributed to those in need, providing immediate relief. The camp featured orthopaedic, women’s health, eye, and medicine specialists among others. In addition, the chief medical and health officer, district programme manager, block medical officer of Gaurala, and other health department officials were present throughout, playing an active role in the camp’s successful operation. The state government aims to ensure that no citizen, however remote or inaccessible, is deprived of health facilities. Reaching marginalized tribes with specialist health services is a top priority. Extending health services is not limited to hospitals but includes reaching people directly to provide treatment, a hallmark of good governance. Health officials said regular special health camps are being organized in remote tribal areas for early disease detection, treatment provision, and referral of serious cases to higher medical institutions. Villagers are also being educated on sanitation, nutrition, seasonal disease prevention and healthy lifestyle. The reach of specialist doctors to remote Baiga areas demonstrates that under Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the state government is continuously working to make health services more accessible, inclusive and effective. Such special health camps not only provide timely treatment but also strengthen trust and awareness about health in tribal regions.
