Rs 1 Lakh Fine on CGMSC Cancelled

Raipur/ The Supreme Court has endorsed the working style and rule-based tender process of Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation (CGMSC). The court has overturned the Chhattisgarh High Court's decision, which had imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on CGMSC. This decision clarifies that the company's tender process was completely transparent and in accordance with the rules.
The entire issue was that in a matter related to a tender, a contractor had lodged a complaint in the High Court, after which the High Court had imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on CGMSC. CGMSC appealed against this in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court, during its hearing, found that no fault lay with the corporation.
The court held that all necessary information and messages were sent to the contractor on time at the official email ID provided by him in the form. The contractor himself did not respond within the stipulated time, and therefore, he was rightly disqualified from the tender as per the rules.
The Supreme Court opined that CGMSC's work in the entire matter was absolutely correct and the Rs 1 lakh fine imposed on it was wrong. This decision proves that CGMSC conducts all its tenders and purchases with complete integrity and adherence to rules. The corporation has stated that it will continue to work with the same integrity to further improve the health facilities of the state.
