Under the Chief Minister’s energy‑relief scheme, customers who use up to 400 units receive a 50 % discount on the next 200 units. Once consumption exceeds 400 units in a month, the concession ceases, giving the impression of a sudden bill surge. Additionally, sustained overload beyond the sanctioned capacity triggers a one‑time charge of INR 800 per kilowatt as per regulations.
