Manendragarh. After the announcement of Congress candidates for the upcoming municipal elections in Chhattisgarh, voices of rebellion have started rising in the party. Babita Singh, former vice president of Mahila Congress and councilor of Chirmiri ward number 33, has today filed independent nomination for the post of mayor. He had claimed for the mayor’s ticket, but in Chirmiri Corporation the party has declared Dr. Vinay Jaiswal as its candidate.
Let us tell you, Babita Singh has been active in Congress for the last two decades and is considered close to Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant. His sister-in-law late. Subhashini Singh has been the first mayor of Chirmiri. Even in the last elections, Babita was a contender for the post of mayor, but the then MLA Vinay Jaiswal had made his wife the mayor.
Angered by the party giving ticket to former MLA Dr. Vinay Jaiswal, Babita says that there is no respect for workers in Congress. He alleged that Chirmiri Congress has become limited around one particular person. Giving mayor ticket first to the MLA, then to his wife and now to the former MLA is an insult to other workers.
Babita also alleged that BJP has fielded a dummy candidate to clear the way for Jaiswal. He predicted that in 2028 also Congress will field the Jaiswal couple as its assembly candidates.
