Raipur, “National Unity Day” will be celebrated in the state on October 31 on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and the country’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.
As per the instructions of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, the state government will organize various programs on this day. The Home Department has been declared as the nodal department for this event.
On the occasion of National Unity Day, a National Unity Pledge ceremony will be organized at 10:30 AM in all government offices, educational institutions, and local bodies of the state. On this occasion, officials, employees, students, and citizens will be administered the “National Unity Pledge”.
Along with this, “Run for Unity”, essay and debate competitions, exhibitions based on unity, youth rallies, and public awareness programs will be organized throughout the year from October 2025 to October 2026, so that the contribution of Sardar Patel and the importance of national unity can be conveyed to the masses.
The state government has directed all departments, districts, and government institutions to ensure the organization of scheduled activities on the occasion of “National Unity Day”, so that the ideals of Sardar Patel and the message of One India-Great India can be effectively conveyed to the general public.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that Sardar Patel’s life gives us the message that unity is the greatest strength of the nation. His unwavering resolve and visionary leadership strengthened the country’s integrity. He appealed to the people of the state to resolve on this occasion to collectively fulfill our duties with devotion for the protection of India’s unity, integrity, and security.
