Rajyotsav 2026: Bilaspur, Raigarh, Korba Get State Awards

Several achievers from across Chhattisgarh have been selected for state honours ahead of the Rajyotsav-2026 celebrations, the state government has announced.

The announcement was made by Culture and Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal during a press conference at the Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum in Raipur. He named 36 individuals and organisations chosen for State Honour awards across multiple domains.

The honours recognise achievements in literature, journalism, culture, sports, agriculture, social service, women's empowerment, police service, law and rural tourism.

Bilaspur has a special reason to celebrate this year. Tejaswini Seva Pratishthan has been selected for the Pandit Ravishankar Shukla Samman for its work in the social, educational and economic sectors.

In Raigarh, Babulal Agrawal will receive the Maharaja Agrasen Samman for contributions to social harmony. In Korba, sportsperson Sanju Devi has been chosen for the Gunadhur Samman for her outstanding performance.

The state has also expanded its honours framework this year with two new awards in the names of Teejan Bai and Sant Ravidas. The Rajyotsav is set to feature 41 award categories, while the minister's list contains 36 awards. These figures relate to different parts of the announcement.

The awards will be presented at the state honour ceremony held during the Rajyotsav celebrations at Nava Raipur, scheduled from November 1 to 3.
