Raypur, 15 October 2026 – Parents and pupils in the state capital received welcome news after the School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav unveiled a new holiday timetable. Schools will close for Dussehra from 17 to 21 October, granting a five‑day holiday. The Diwali break now spans six days, from 6 to 11 November, after the administration added one extra day to the earlier five‑day schedule. A winter vacation of five days is set for 24‑28 December. Together, the three periods add up to 16 days of uninterrupted leave. The revised plan is intended to give families more time together during the major festivals, though a formal order from the education department is still pending.
