Bottle Leak Findings Prompt Notice to Raipur Bottling Firm

The Excise Department has also targeted a private bottling enterprise after detecting widespread leakage and packaging defects in bottles of the "Savashera" brand sold at a local shop in Bijapur district.

Messrs Raipur Bottling Co., operating under the name Pro. Raipur Bottling Private Ltd., FL‑09 licensee, was served a show‑cause notice for the irregularities. Inspectors found that out of 19 cartons of Savashera masala paav, 16 bottles were leaking, while 154 out of 160 bottles in the plain liquor batch suffered the same flaw.

Such defects pose health risks to consumers and reflect poor quality control at the bottling plant. The department has ordered the firm to halt distribution of the affected batches and to submit a corrective action plan within a week.

The notice underscores the department's broader mandate to ensure both price integrity and product safety across the state's alcohol supply chain.
