PS-Y National Excellence Award Ceremony Honors Meritorious Students
Avoid Mobile and Digital Addiction, Human Intelligence is Supreme: Governor Shrideka
Raipur, Governor Shri Ramen Deka said that being among children reminds him of his childhood. Lifestyles have completely changed today. He said that in his time, studies were conducted with limited resources, and hard work and dedication were the basis of success. In this era of the internet and artificial intelligence (AI), facilities have increased, but students should maintain their original thinking and study habits. Governor Shri Deka was present as the chief guest at the National Excellence Award Ceremony and Medal and Fund Distribution 2026 organized by PS-Y Education and Research Federation at Vimtara Auditorium in Raipur today. On this occasion, meritorious students and outstanding district education officers from various districts of the state were honored.
On this occasion, the Governor said that friendships in student life are the purest and most precious, which should be cherished throughout life. He urged students to stay away from any kind of addiction, stating that digital addiction is as harmful as other addictions. Mobile usage should be limited to essential studies and useful tasks.
He said that Google and AI are useful tools today, but they cannot replace human intelligence. There should be no "Google effect" in life. The ability to think, understand, and make decisions is man's greatest strength.
Governor urged parents to recognize their children's talents and interests and encourage them to move forward in that direction. He said that it is not necessary for every child to go into IIT or medical fields. The National Education Policy-2020 offers many new courses and options to develop the diverse talents of students. There are vast possibilities in every field today and ample opportunities for innovation.
He told students to dream big. It is not important from which background a person comes, but their hard work, dedication, and determination determine their future. He said that it is not necessary for only successful people to be happy; a content person is truly happy. Living harmoniously and peacefully with family, neighbors, and friends is true success.
Governor said that the achievement of every student honored here today is not just their individual success, but also the result of the sacrifices of their parents and the guidance of their teachers. He urged parents not to compare their children with others, stating that every child is unique. Instead of pushing them into blind competition, they should be given opportunities to progress according to their interests and abilities. Only when a child works in a field of their choice does their exceptional talent shine through.
He wished all students a bright future and expressed confidence that they will contribute significantly to the creation of a self-reliant India and a developed Chhattisgarh.
On this occasion, Guest of Honor, MLA and former Assembly Speaker Shri Dharamlal Kaushik said that children are the future of the country. Every student should have a clear goal, and education is the most effective means to achieve that goal. The more attention paid to education, the brighter the future will be.
MLA Shri Purandar Mishra also encouraged the students, emphasizing the need for discipline, hard work, and continuous learning for success.
At the beginning of the program, Director of PS-Y Educational and Research Association, Dr. S.K. Mishra, highlighted the objective of the program. At the end, Chief Planning Coordinator PS-Y, Mrs. Shubhra Shukla Mishra, expressed gratitude.
The ceremony was attended by CBSE Regional Director Shri Jagdish Barman, PS-Y officials, District Education Officers from all divisions of the state, principals, teachers, honored students, and their parents.
