Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the Champa, Balod and Sarona railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. In the double-engine government, Chhattisgarh is witnessing unprecedented expansion of railway infrastructure: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay. Raipur, 17 July 2026 – Under the successful leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is undergoing extensive modernisation of railway infrastructure and Chhattisgarh is also benefitting directly. The virtual inauguration of the Champa, Balod and Sarona railway stations in Chhattisgarh under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is a significant achievement for the state's rail development. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay expressed gratitude on social media handle X towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav for this people‑friendly initiative. Chief Minister Sahay said that with the continuous support of the central government, the basic infrastructure in Chhattisgarh is developing rapidly, reaching every region and citizen of the state. He noted that the modernised railway stations will provide travelers with safer, smoother and more convenient journeys. Improved waiting rooms, facilities for differently‑abled persons, clean premises, modern passenger amenities and upgraded infrastructure will provide quality rail services to the common public. The Chief Minister stated that railways are not merely a means of transport but a strong foundation for economic and social development. Upgrading important stations such as Champa, Balod and Sarona will give new momentum to trade, tourism, local economy and regional development. This will make travel easier for people and also promote employment and economic activities. Chief Minister Shri Sahay said that under the double‑engine government, Chhattisgarh is witnessing unprecedented expansion of railway infrastructure. New rail projects, double‑tracking, electrification and the extension of modern railway facilities are giving the state a new direction of growth.
