Preparations Begin for Independence Day 2026 in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, The Chhattisgarh government has issued detailed guidelines for celebrating Independence Day 2026 in a dignified, grand, and inspiring manner across the state. This year's Independence Day is set to be special as it will also mark the historical celebration of 150 years of the national song 'Vande Mataram'. The government has given strict instructions to all District Collectors and departmental heads to ensure proper monitoring of the events.

Chief Minister to hoist the flag in Raipur, collective singing of Vande Mataram mandatory The main state-level ceremony will be held at the local Police Parade Ground in the capital Raipur on August 15th at 9:00 AM. In this grand ceremony, the Honorable Chief Minister will hoist the flag and take the salute of the parade. Considering the historical significance of completing 150 years of Vande Mataram on this historic occasion, the collective singing of Vande Mataram has been made mandatory in all government programs. Contingents from BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (male and female), Nagar Sena, NCC, and Band Platoon will participate in the parade. Along with this, the Chief Minister will deliver a message to the people of the state.

Ministers and local public representatives to take command at district and block levels At district headquarters, ministers nominated by the government will hoist the flag, take the salute of the parade, and read the Chief Minister's message. Cultural programs by schoolchildren will also be organized here. At Janpad Panchayat headquarters, Janpad Panchayat Presidents, and in municipalities and panchayats, their respective presidents and sarpanches, and in large villages, village heads will hoist the flag. National anthems, speeches, and messages of national unity and integrity will be broadcast at these locations.

Honoring the families of martyrs District Collectors have been instructed to specially and respectfully invite and honor freedom fighters and the families of jawans martyred in Naxal violence at the district-level ceremony. Government advertisements to be released on the occasion of Independence Day will be dedicated to the heroes of the freedom struggle and the martyrs of Chhattisgarh. The publication of these advertisements in newspapers on August 15th will be ensured.

Special lighting on government buildings at night On the night of Independence Day, all government buildings, offices, and national monuments in the state will be decorated with attractive lighting, the cost of which will be borne by the respective departments. Citizens and private organizations will also be appealed to hoist the national flag on their buildings and illuminate them at night.

Other important instructions for institutions In government and educational institutions, flag hoisting, national anthem, prabhat pheri, cultural, literary, sports, and tree plantation programs must be completed before 9:00 AM. Prior permission from the District Collector is mandatory for the use of loudspeakers. Only limited and patriotic songs can be played on loudspeakers.
