Tent City to be built at Tirath village near Chitrakote waterfall at a cost of Rs 25 crore

Raipur, A meeting of the Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) was concluded today under the chairmanship of Chhattisgarh Chief Secretary Mr. Vikasheel at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan. Detailed deliberations were held in the meeting on the proposal to develop a tent city in Tirath village near Chitrakote waterfall.

It was informed in the meeting that this project will be developed on a PPP model. The main location of the project will be in Gram Tirath of Bastar district, 500 meters away from Chitrakote waterfall. The financial management of the project was also discussed in detail in the meeting. An official from the Tourism Department informed that adventure activities, destination weddings, and conference halls will also be developed here. The Chief Secretary said that a master plan should be prepared to develop the area around Chitrakote waterfall as a world-class tourism destination. He said that Chitrakote is a major waterfall in the country. The construction of a tent city will boost tourism in the Bastar region throughout the year and provide employment opportunities to local youth.

The meeting was attended by Secretary, Finance Department Dr. Rohit Yadav, Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department Dr. S. Bhartidasan, Managing Director, Tourism Board Mr. Vivek Acharya, and other officials from the Tourism Department.
