Police Probe Possible Political Motive Behind Rajnandgaon Murder

The murder of Pappu Deshmukh, a kin of former Rajnandgaon mayor Hema Deshmukh, has ignited speculation about a political angle to the crime. While the Chikhli police department has already taken three men—Vikki Sahu, Mukesh Sahu and Sagar Vahane—into custody, investigators are focusing on whether the act was driven by political rivalry or a personal vendetta.

According to the police, the motive remains unclear. Interrogations are underway, and officers are correlating physical evidence from the scene with testimony from witnesses. The suspect Sagar Vahane carries a history of several criminal cases, a fact that investigators are scrutinising to determine any relevance to the present killing.
