Police Investigate Suicide of Anupur Couple Discovered by Landlord’s Prompt Action

Bilaspur police are probing a tragic suicide case that came to light after a landlord heard constant crying from a rental flat in Nayapara, Ward-12. The occupants, Ramesh Singh Banjara and his wife Maya, originally hailing from Jamkhar in Anupur district of Madhya Pradesh, were found hanging in their bedroom. The landlord, Ramesh Kumar Sahu, responded to the distress calls of the children at around 5 a.m. on Tuesday and discovered the couple suspended from a makeshift rope. Immediate assistance was sought from Sirgitti police, who, in coordination with a forensic science lab, collected vital evidence and arranged for post-mortem examinations. While the investigation currently indicates a suicide, officials have not yet determined why the couple chose this extreme act. Probes are focusing on potential financial hardships and domestic disagreements that may have contributed to the tragedy. The two children have been placed under the guardianship of relatives.
