Police Arrest Couple for Killing Former Partner, Hiding Head and Torso Separately
In a shocking case from Balrampur district, Chhattisgarh, law enforcement officials have detained a married pair accused of murdering a former lover and attempting to conceal the crime by burying the victim’s head and body in different spots.
According to the police report, the 25‑year‑old wife, Manbasa Khairwar, maintained a secret relationship with 35‑year‑old Vasim Ansari even after marrying Sonu Khairwar, 30. The couple allegedly argued frequently about the affair, and on October 2, Manbasa called Vasim to a secluded forest location.
When Vasim arrived, Sonu allegedly joined his wife and struck the man with an axe, causing instant death. The perpetrators then dismembered the corpse, placing the head in a shallow pit near a stream and the torso in another pit about 200 metres away.
Vasim’s disappearance was first reported by his family after he failed to return home that night. A search operation led to the discovery of the severed head, and subsequent forensic identification confirmed the remains as Vasim’s.
Both suspects have been charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, and tampering with evidence. The investigation continues to explore the full extent of the plot, including any additional accomplices and the procurement of the weapon.
