Parvati Nishaad’s Death Triggers Domestic Violence Probe in Ratakat
The hanging death of Parvati Nishaad in Ratakat village has sparked a focused probe into alleged domestic violence by her husband, Devsharan Nishaad.
Parvati, aged 33, was found dead in her bedroom on the night of 2‑3 April after reportedly hanging herself.
She lived with Devsharan and their two children, while also operating a local grocery store.
According to police findings, Devsharan left the house around 10 pm to attend his shift at the Bajrang Chemical Plant on Amethi Road.
Investigators recovered a suicide note that, together with statements from Parvati’s father, mother, aunt, brother, neighbours and the village head, accused the husband of repeated physical and verbal abuse.
Witnesses also alleged that Devsharan was in communication with another woman, and that frequent arguments over household matters escalated to threats and assaults.
Based on this evidence, the police filed an FIR charging Devsharan with abetting suicide, marking a significant step in addressing domestic abuse allegations.
The case is still under active investigation, with further forensic and testimonial evidence being collected.
