Oxygen cylinder suspected in deadly Raipur industrial explosion
Police and fire officials arrived swiftly at the 3D Innovation plant in Bendrei after a thunderous explosion left three laborers dead. Witnesses reported a deafening sound comparable to a bomb, followed by a cloud of smoke and flying debris.
The victims—Kamal Singh, Lal Singh and Arun Pandey—were working on the furnace line when an oxygen cylinder allegedly gave way, causing a rapid combustion event. Although this hypothesis is under review, the official enquiry will verify whether the cylinder malfunctioned or if other safety lapses contributed.
The blast has raised sharp criticism from workers' families, who allege that the factory failed to adhere to basic safety protocols. They argue that robust protective measures could have averted the tragedy. The administration has pledged to examine compliance with industrial safety norms and to pursue legal action if negligence is confirmed.
