Technical findings revealed that vehicles weighing up to 70 tonnes regularly traversed the road meant for 10‑12 tonnes, causing severe distress to the pavement. In addition, the shoulders on both sides failed to meet compaction norms, and back‑filling at the bridge approach was inadequate, allowing rainwater to infiltrate the sub‑grade. In response, the authorities have initiated a blacklist for the original contractor and ordered the removal and reconstruction of the damaged stretch.
