Our Government Will Provide Modern Training, Better Resources, and Competitive Opportunities to Sports Talents: Chief Minister Mr. Sai
High-level committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, 156 players eligible in the selection process of outstanding players
List to be sent to the General Administration Department for notification
Arrangements will be made for the appointment of outstanding players in government service, they will play an important role in nurturing the sports talents of the state
Raipur, June 30, 2026. A meeting of the high-level committee constituted to declare outstanding players was held today at the residence office under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai. In the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao, along with the members of the committee, discussed in detail the applications received for the years 2018-19 and 2019-20 and finalized the selection of 156 outstanding players after reviewing all aspects. These include players from 20 different sports.
The list of 156 approved players will be sent to the General Administration Department. After its notification by the General Administration Department, the necessary action will be initiated to recruit the players into government service. The players of the state have been waiting for this list for a long time. This wait for the players will soon end after the high-level meeting held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Sai.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai told the officials that a transparent, time-bound, and incentive-based system should be ensured to promote the sports talents of the state. He said that necessary procedures and arrangements will be made to appoint the selected outstanding players to government service as per their eligibility. The Chief Minister said that the experience and achievements of these players are a source of inspiration for the new sports talents of the state, therefore their services should also be utilized in sports training, talent development, and guidance of players.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the objective of the state government is not only to honor the players but also to develop a strong sports system where talents are identified from the village to the state level in time, and they are provided with modern training, better resources, and competitive opportunities. He especially emphasized the officials to make sports activities more effective and create a conducive environment for sports talents.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that the state government is committed to the overall development of sports in the state. Continuous work is being done towards the expansion of sports infrastructure, development of modern facilities, and establishment of new sports academies. The government aims to produce outstanding players who will bring glory to Chhattisgarh and the country in national and international competitions. He said that the players selected today will play an important role in further strengthening the sports culture in the state by training the new generation of players in the future.
It was informed in the meeting that a total of 182 outstanding players have been declared in the state so far. In this sequence, applications were invited by issuing advertisements earlier for the years 2018-19 and 2019-20. Based on the scrutiny of the applications received and the prescribed standards, 156 players were found eligible.
The meeting was attended by Forest Minister Mr. Kedar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Mr. Vikas Sheel, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of the General Administration Department Mr. Avinash Champawat, Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department Mr. Yashwant Kumar, and Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department Mrs. Tanuja Salam.
