‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ Not Just a Message, a Nationwide Campaign: Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma

Baloudabazar's Sakri location Chief Minister Public School organized the district-level Van Mahotsav 2026. Students conveyed a greenery message through painting and rangoli, and outstanding 'Vansathi' were also honored. Raipur, with a pledge for environmental protection and greening, saw the dignified organization of the district-level 'Van Mahotsav 2026' on Saturday at Chief Minister Public School in Sakri, Baloudabazar. The Revenue Minister of the state, Shri Tank Ram Verma, attended as the chief guest. On this occasion, extensive tree planting was carried out with wide participation of elected representatives, administrative officials, school children and citizens. Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma inaugurated the program under the 'One Tree in Mother’s Name' campaign. The guests themselves planted trees, delivering an inspiring message to society to preserve the environment and taking a pledge to protect and care for the planted trees. Planting a sapling is not enough, preserving it is the real success, said the Revenue Minister. He stated that the 'One Tree in Mother’s Name' initiative given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not just a message but a nationwide campaign that connects people across the country. Maintaining environmental balance is our collective responsibility. Every citizen should plant at least one tree in honor of his mother. Simply planting a tree is not sufficient; nurturing it until it becomes a tree and regular care is the true essence of the campaign. Talented children and 'Vansathi' were honored. To make the ceremony more vibrant, a painting and rangoli competition was organized among school students. The children depicted the importance of nature and trees through their artworks. Outstanding performing meritorious students were awarded certificates. Likewise, Vansathis who made courageous and remarkable contributions to protect forests from severe forest fires were specially honored. In this district-level forest festival, Rajya Sabha MP Mrs. Lakshmi Verma, District Panchayat President Mrs. Aakanksha Jaiswal, the Collector, Forest Department Officer and many other public representatives, senior officials, teachers, students and dignitaries were present in large numbers. All speakers appealed to the public to join this green campaign.
