In Balod district, two-wheeler drivers will no longer receive petrol or other fuel at petrol pumps if they are not wearing helmets. This stringent measure has been implemented by the Balod district administration and police to curb the rising number of road accidents. Collector Divya Umesh Mishra and Superintendent of Police Yogesh Patel convened a meeting with petrol pump operators and two-wheeler vendors at the district office to issue necessary directives. Collector Mishra emphasized that ensuring the safety of every citizen’s life should be the top priority. She highlighted the crucial role of public participation and social involvement in making this campaign successful. She appealed to petrol pump operators and two-wheeler vendors, considering them as vital links, to actively participate in this important public welfare program. The meeting was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Sunil Chandravanshi, Additional Collector Ajay Kishore Lakra, District Excise Officer Yogesh Dwivedi, along with police and other officials, as well as petrol pump operators and two-wheeler vendors from the district.
