Raipur, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai has taken very seriously the case of the question paper for the Entomology subject of BSc Agriculture second year examination of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University being circulated through social media before the examination. The Chief Minister has clearly stated that in the state, compromise will not be accepted at any level with the integrity, transparency, and credibility of examinations. Strict action will be taken against elements who try to influence the examination process or play with the future of students.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai has directed an impartial and detailed investigation into the matter. On his instructions, the university administration has constituted a five-member inquiry committee. Along with this, an FIR has been registered against an unknown person at Telibandha police station in connection with the incident. The cyber cell is also being assisted in the technical investigation of the case, so that the entire chain of circulation of the question paper can be traced.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that the state government is working with full sensitivity and firmness on matters related to the future of the youth. Whether it is recruitment or academic examination, maintaining its impartiality and credibility is the top priority. Responsibility will be fixed if any irregularity is found at any level, and the strictest possible action will be ensured against the guilty as per rules.
The Chief Minister said, "Our government has a zero-tolerance policy towards any kind of malpractice in examinations. The hard work, trust, and future of the students are paramount to us. This matter will be investigated to its fullest extent. Where the question paper came from, who leaked it, and who was involved in it, every fact will be brought to light. Whoever is found guilty, will not be spared."
According to the information received, the Entomology subject examination for the BSc Agriculture second year of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University was conducted on August 20. Approximately 1,200 students from 27 agricultural colleges in the state appeared for this examination. A complaint was received about the question paper being circulated through social media platforms before the examination. Considering the seriousness of the matter and the fairness of the examination, the university administration has canceled the examination. The canceled examination will be re-conducted in the first week of September.
The constituted inquiry committee will match the question paper circulated on social media with the original question paper used in the examination and will also ascertain from which source the question paper first came out, through which means it was further circulated, and where it reached. The investigation will also proceed based on the digital evidence and other facts provided by the police and cyber cell.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai has instructed the concerned officials not to show any negligence at any level in the investigation and to bring all the facts related to the case to light. He said that maintaining the trust of students and parents in the examination system is an important responsibility of the government and educational institutions. Any such activity that affects the interests of students who take examinations with hard work and honesty will be taken seriously.
The Chief Minister has also directed the university administration to conduct a comprehensive review of the confidentiality and security arrangements of question papers in future examinations. It has been asked to further strengthen the necessary security measures in the entire process, from the creation of the question paper to its safe keeping, transportation to examination centers, and until the commencement of the examination, so that such an incident is not repeated.
