No Alternative to Development: Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma
Raipur, Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma inaugurated and performed the foundation stone laying for development works worth over Rs 8.32 crore in the village Tandwa, under the Tilda development block of Raipur district. During this, Minister Shri Verma laid the foundation stone for the Dehanpara to Jhopra Para Baikunth road (2.675 km) to be built at a cost of Rs 444.55 lakh and the Tandwa to Baikunth road (2.65 km) at a cost of Rs 387.69 lakh in village Tandwa. Along with this, a bicycle stand worth Rs 5 lakh and a prayer shed worth Rs 10 lakh were also inaugurated at the Government Higher Secondary School.
Minister Shri Verma said that the long-standing demand of villagers and local representatives for road construction has now been fulfilled. He informed that this route was approved in 2018 as well, but the work had stopped due to immediate circumstances. Now, not only has the road been approved, but as a bonus, two major roads have been gifted. The construction of this road will save time and provide great convenience in commuting for students, workers, shopkeepers, and the general public. Giving details of the works in the Panchayat area, he stated that various development works worth approximately Rs 77 lakh have been carried out in the Panchayat during the last two and a half years of his tenure. These include public welfare works such as shed construction, Mahatari Sadan, PDS building, garden development, toilets, bicycle stands, and smart classes.
*Message of Life Given to Students and Youth*
Sharing his student life, administrative, and political experiences, Minister Shri Verma said that the true meaning of politics is public service, wiping the tears of the poor, and ensuring development schemes reach the last person, not displaying power. Motivating students and youth, he said that a person's stature is not determined by praise or criticism, but by their actions. We should continue to work with complete honesty and dedication. The Ramcharitmanas also states, 'Parhit saris dharam nahi bhai'—meaning bringing a smile to others' faces is the greatest dharma.
On this occasion, District and Janpad Panchayat Presidents, Sarpanch, other public representatives, the school principal, teachers, villagers, and a large number of students were present.
