In a landmark decision for Chhattisgarh’s academic landscape, the state Cabinet has cleared the way for the establishment of a world-class educational campus in Nava Raipur. The Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM), a renowned educational trust with a history dating back to 1934, has been allotted approximately 40 acres of land in Sector 18. This facility will house the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), which recently secured the 52nd rank in the NIRF University Rankings 2025. The 90-year lease agreement underscores the government’s long-term commitment to fostering an environment of excellence in higher education.
Beyond education, the Council of Ministers focused heavily on the digital and industrial growth of the region. The state will collaborate with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to foster a robust startup culture. Through the establishment of specialized entrepreneurship centers, the government plans to support 133 startups specializing in herbal medicine, forest products, and smart agriculture. This move is designed to leverage Chhattisgarh’s natural resources while integrating them with modern technological solutions, providing a unique platform for local entrepreneurs and researchers.
Additionally, an Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) center will be established to assist entrepreneurs in developing prototypes. This center is expected to support 30 to 40 hardware startups and MSMEs annually, providing them with the necessary tools and guidance to bring their products to market. This comprehensive approach to technology and education marks a new era for Nava Raipur, turning it into a destination for talent and innovation alike.
