New ITI in Jajamgaon Starts 'Mechanic Electric Vehicle' Trade; New Doors of Employment Will Open for Youth

Youth will receive modern and industry-based training in line with changing technology and green transportation needs.

Online admission registration process started.

Raipur, A significant initiative has been taken in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh to connect youth with modern technology and provide new employment and self-employment opportunities. The first batch of Mechanic Electric Vehicle trade has been started for the first time from the session 2026-27 at the New Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Jajamgaon. This will also be the first training session for this institute. Considering the increasing use of electric vehicles and the technological changes happening in the automobile sector, this trade will prove to be very important for the career of the youth.

Two-year course and modern training

Mechanic Electric Vehicle is a two-year course. In this, trainees will be given practical and industry-based training in modern technologies such as Electric Vehicle technology, along with Battery Management System (BMS), motor control, charging system, vehicle servicing, and fault diagnosis. Currently, this trade is operational in only 5 selected government ITI institutions in Chhattisgarh, making its commencement at Jajamgaon ITI a major achievement for the district.

Better employment and self-employment opportunities

With the increasing trend of e-vehicles, the demand for trained technicians in authorized service centers, e-vehicle manufacturing companies, charging stations, and battery-related service units will increase rapidly. In addition, trained youth can also establish self-employment by starting their own service center or technical service.

Rapid development of the region

Various development and economic activities, including Forest Park and Food Park, are being promoted in the Jajamgaon region. Recently, Collector Mr. Abinash Mishra had also inspected the land identified for the new ITI building. Principal of the nodal institution of Dhamtari district, Government ITI Kurud, Mr. Yogesh Dewangan, has appealed to students and parents to take admission in this new trade to benefit from the growing possibilities in the electric vehicle sector.

Admission process and other benefits

The online registration and choice filling process for admission to ITI has started. Interested candidates can apply online by the stipulated date, after which admission will be given on the basis of merit. For more information, one can contact Government ITI Kurud.

It is noteworthy that last year, on September 23, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai had announced development works worth more than 83 crore rupees for the district at a function organized in village Kareli Badi, which also included the establishment of a new ITI in Jajamgaon.
