New highways, forlanes and high‑level bridges to boost connectivity
The infrastructure drive also earmarks high‑level bridges on the Arpa and Kharun rivers. A Rs 17.63 crore project will erect a high‑level bridge and access road on the Arpa River along the Lodhipara‑Koni route in Bilaspur, while a Rs 7.68 crore scheme will do the same on the Kharun River at Chorahadewri‑Parasda.
Further widening and strengthening works are planned for key stretches in Dhamtari, including 3.75 km of the NH‑30 Megha Road‑Tirah‑Station segment, a 5 km portion of the Pachpedi‑Tarragondi‑Bhelvakuda‑Tipani corridor, and a 9 km Chhati‑Gagra‑Kandel‑Devpur link.
In Raigad district, a 5 km segment of the Raigad‑Loing‑Mahapalli main road will receive forelane widening and electrification worth Rs 59.49 crore, with a parallel Rs 47.78 crore allocation for the Raigad‑Kotara‑Nandeli stretch.
The state’s roadmap aims to improve trade, tourism and local economies by delivering safer, faster travel routes across the region.
