New Ambulances, Modern Labs and Paramedic Courses Boost Rural Healthcare in Chhattisgarh

In the past two and a half years, Chhattisgarh has recorded more than 11.89 lakh institutional deliveries, driven by the Prime Minister's Surakshit Maatritva initiative that guarantees regular antenatal checks and close monitoring for high‑risk pregnancies.

To strengthen emergency response, the state launched 375 new 108 Sanjeevani Express ambulances. Between January 2024 and June 2026, these fleets delivered timely emergency services to over 6.5 lakh citizens.

A collaboration with HLL Lifecare has equipped 1,051 health institutions with state‑of‑the‑art pathology labs, using a hub‑and‑spoke model and IT‑based reporting to reach even the most isolated communities.

Additionally, all ten medical colleges in the state will introduce paramedical courses, creating a skilled workforce to support expanding health services and offering new career pathways for youth.
