Neelima's Life Changed by Chief Minister's Skill Development Scheme
Raipur, The Chief Minister's Skill Development Scheme, operated by the Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, is emerging as a powerful medium to connect the youth of the state with skills, employment, and self-reliance. Under the scheme, free training is provided to the youth in various employable trades, offering them employment and self-employment opportunities. Mrs. Neelima Dewangan, a resident of village Mohla in Mohla-Manpur-Ambgarh Chowki district, has given a new direction to her life by taking advantage of this scheme. Today, she is operating a successful tailoring self-employment venture from her home, becoming economically self-reliant and significantly contributing to her family's income.
Training Changed Her Perspective on Life Mrs. Neelima Dewangan received training in the tailoring trade under the Chief Minister's Skill Development Scheme at the District Project Livelihood College, Mohla. She mentioned that she learned about this training through her friends. After completing the necessary formalities, she enrolled in the training and pursued it with full dedication. During the training, she was imparted knowledge of modern sewing and embroidery techniques, machine operation, garment cutting and stitching, along with practical and technical information related to the business. The guidance of expert trainers honed her skills and boosted her confidence.
Skill Became the Basis of Livelihood, Employment From Home After completing her training, Neelima decided to start her own self-employment venture instead of waiting for a job. She started tailoring work from her home and today she stitches various types of clothes for women and children. From the very first month of self-employment, she started earning a regular income of approximately 5 to 6 thousand rupees per month. This income is playing a crucial role in meeting her family's financial needs and has brought about a positive change in her standard of living.
Self-Reliance Increased Confidence Neelima Dewangan states that the Chief Minister's Skill Development Scheme not only gave her a skill but also provided her with the confidence to stand on her own feet. Today, she is respectfully supporting her family and wishes to expand her self-employment venture in the future and connect other women with employment.
