National anthem, state anthem and meal prayer to resonate in Chhattisgarh schools; Education department issues strict instructions

Raipur, June 12, 2026/ In government and private schools of Chhattisgarh, children will now be deeply connected with moral values, national consciousness and Indian culture along with studies. The School Education Department has issued strict instructions for the regular and mandatory conduct of various cultural and educational activities including the national anthem, national song, state anthem in all schools of the state from the new education session 2026-27. Under this order issued from Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan (Nawa Raipur), all District Education Officers (DEOs) have been entrusted with the responsibility of implementing this system in their respective areas with immediate effect. Schedule to be divided into three sessions - complete timetable from morning to evening As per the guidelines issued by the department, activities will now be organized daily in schools at three different times in a prescribed order. In the morning session, these presentations will be mandatory according to a set order during the morning prayer assembly upon school commencement. Upon school commencement, the morning prayer assembly will include recitation of the national anthem, national song, deep mantra, Saraswati Vandana, Guru mantra and biographies of great personalities in that order. Similarly, during the mid-day meal, students will collectively recite the meal prayer. And at the time of school dismissal, in the evening session, the state anthem, Gayatri mantra and Shanti mantra will be collectively recited. Main objective is intellectual and moral development The School Education Department believes that the regular and effective conduct of these activities will not only strengthen the spirit of patriotism and discipline among students but also foster the right development of moral values and cultural consciousness within them. This initiative will prove to be a milestone in familiarizing students with Indian traditions and national values. Action will be taken for negligence The government has clarified that all District Education Officers will have to conduct surprise inspections of schools daily and ensure whether these rules are being strictly followed or not. Administrative action can also be taken against the concerned school management or principals if any deviation from the prescribed order is found.
