Nandghat-Mungeli Road to be Four-Lane at a Cost of 138 Crore

The state government approved an additional amount of 21 crore 81 lakh rupees to convert the previously approved two-lane road from Nandghat in Bemetara district to Mungeli district headquarters into a four-lane road. The state had approved 116 crore in 2024 under the CRIF scheme for construction of the two-lane Nandghat-Mungeli route. Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Saw had directed officials to convert this road from two-lane to four-lane. In compliance, the state approved an additional 21 crore 81 lakh rupees on Thursday for the upgrade. Combining the previously approved 116 crore and the 21 crore 81 lakh approved on Thursday, the total cost is now 137 crore 81 lakh rupees for constructing a 36.40 km four-lane road between Nandghat and Mungeli. Residents have long demanded the state route be four-lane. The additional funding fulfills a major demand of the area. Once four-lane, travel for people from Mungeli, Lormi, Pandaria and through Pandaria to the capital Raipur will be faster, smoother and safer. Food and Civil Supplies Minister and Navagarh MLA Dayal Das Baghel thanked Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw for approving the four-lane Nandghat-Mungeli road and congratulated the residents.
