Technical monitoring is a core component of Chhattisgarh's rural bus scheme to ensure transparency and efficiency. Each bus is equipped with a Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD), allowing the Transport Department to verify operations in real-time through a centralized command center. This data is essential for disbursing Viability Gap Funding, which was set at a maximum of 26 rupees per kilometer in the first year. In the initial year of the scheme, approximately 5.77 crore rupees were released to support operators on low-revenue routes. This structured financial assistance, combined with motor vehicle tax exemptions, ensures that even the most remote villages remain connected to economic hubs despite low initial passenger volumes.
