Monsoon Brings Flood Risk from Uttar Pradesh to Karnataka, Yellow Alerts Active

Across a swath of states—from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in the east to Karnataka in the south—intense monsoon rains are expected to persist.

Yellow alerts have been issued for districts such as Prayagraj, Mirzapur, and parts of central and eastern Uttar Pradesh, while Bihar’s Champaran regions face orange and yellow warnings.

Heavy precipitation is raising river levels, prompting flood‑prone areas to prepare for possible inundation. Authorities in Karnataka, Kerala, and other southern states have also issued advisories for localized downpours.
