The modernization of railways will give new momentum to passenger facilities, trade, tourism and regional development, said Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the newly developed Saroona and Balod railway stations will be inaugurated. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay received a courtesy gift from Raipur Division Railway Manager (DRM) Shri Dayanand. In Raipur today, at the Chief Minister's residence office, DRM Shri Dayanand presented the courtesy gift to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sahay. On this occasion, an invitation letter from Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav was handed to the Chief Minister on behalf of the minister for the inauguration ceremony of the Saroona and Balod stations developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the modern passenger amenities, infrastructure upgrades and the new look of the Saroona and Balod stations under the scheme. The Chief Minister said that the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a visionary initiative to make Indian Railways modern, safe, smooth and passenger‑centric, which will directly benefit citizens and the overall development of the state. He thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav, stating that Indian Railways is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. Railway stations across the country are being equipped with modern facilities, better passenger services and world‑class infrastructure, giving new momentum to the vision of a developed India. The Chief Minister emphasized that railways are not just a mode of transport but the lifeline of development, trade, tourism and public services. Modernising stations will empower the local economy, create jobs and steer regional development in a new direction. He expressed confidence that the upgrade of Saroona and Balod stations will provide better amenities to travelers and give new impetus to the region’s economic and social activities. He added that the coordinated efforts of the Double‑Engine government are rapidly expanding modern rail infrastructure in Chhattisgarh. Strengthened rail connectivity will boost investment, industry, trade and tourism in the state and make travel more convenient and safe for citizens. It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the newly developed and renovated railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme across the country on July 17. The scheme aims to make railway stations modern, smooth, safe and passenger‑friendly, taking the nation’s transport system to new heights.
