Modern Science Infrastructure to be Developed in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh will develop modern science infrastructure. A review was conducted of the progress of Science City, Regional Science Center, AI Gallery and Science Park projects. Instructions were given to complete the preparations for the 22nd All India Science Museum and Science Center Major Conference in a timely manner. Principal Secretary Mr. Sonmani Bora emphasized quality, timelines and public awareness. In Raipur, Chhattisgarh, a review meeting was held at Mahadev Bhawan, Atal Nagar, Naya Raipur, to advance science and technology to new heights. During the meeting, Principal Secretary Mr. Sonmani Bora assessed the progress of major projects and activities of the Science and Technology Department. Special focus was given to ambitious projects such as Science City and AI Gallery. The meeting reviewed in detail the proposed Science City in Raipur, Regional Science Center, the cutting‑edge AI Gallery under development, and the establishment and development of proposed Science Parks in various districts of the state. These projects aim to provide students, researchers and the public with modern, interactive and experiential science education and to promote a scientific outlook and culture of innovation in society. The preparations for the national level science conference were also reviewed. The meeting examined the preparations and work plan for the 22nd All India Science Museum and Science Center Major Conference to be held in Raipur during 2026‑27. The conference will be organized with the support of the National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India. Directions were given to hold a swift joint coordination meeting with NCSM to finalize the preparations. No compromise on timelines and quality. Principal Secretary Mr. Sonmani Bora instructed that all projects be completed within the stipulated timelines with high quality. He said that while accelerating the development of modern science infrastructure in the state, all necessary work should be ensured in a time‑bound manner to promote science‑based public awareness, innovation and STEAM education. Scientists and officials participated. Scientists from the Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology (CCOST) and the Regional Science Center (RCS), Raipur, and departmental officials took part in the meeting. Directions were also given for effective implementation of various projects after reviewing their progress.
