In a move to promote the training and development of budding cricketers in the state, a significant decision has been made. The Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh will be allocated 7.96 acres of land in Sector-3, Gram-Parsada, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar for the establishment of a cricket academy. This decision came during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
While direct land allocation to non-profit organizations is not typically permitted under government regulations, the state government has relaxed these rules in this specific case to facilitate the establishment of the cricket academy for the benefit of the players.
Chhattisgarh holds immense potential in the field of cricket, with several players already showcasing their talent at the national level. The presence of the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Nava Raipur highlights the need for an academy to provide international-standard facilities and training. This decision will provide talented youths with excellent opportunities to excel in cricket and bring national and international recognition to the state. This step by the Chhattisgarh government will not only open new doors for young cricketers in the state but also help establish Chhattisgarh’s strong identity in the field of sports.
