Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade's Sensitive Initiative
Joint effort by banking and social organizations to connect orphaned and destitute children of child care institutions with skills, training, and employment.
Raipur, Chhattisgarh Government's Minister for Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, has taken a significant state-level initiative towards the rehabilitation, skill development, and self-reliant future of orphaned and destitute children residing in child care institutions.
In this regard, she met with Mr. Vijay, India Head of Axis Bank, and Ms. Smita Randhe, India Head of Catalyst for Social Association, at her residence office and held detailed discussions on connecting children with vocational training, technical assistance, and employment-oriented opportunities.
The meeting deliberated on concrete cooperation through Axis Bank's CSR fund to provide necessary facilities to children living in child care institutions, impart skill-based training, and connect them with employment. This initiative aims to provide these children with a dignified and self-reliant life, rather than merely limiting them to protection.
Smt. Rajwade said, "Connecting orphaned and destitute children with education, skills, and employment is a priority for the state government. Our endeavor is that every child residing in child care institutions moves forward confidently in the mainstream of society."
She informed that this initiative was started about a year ago with community support for the social rehabilitation of children living in child protection and child care institutions. Currently, it has been successfully implemented in five districts of the state. Now, a plan is being prepared to expand it and implement it in all districts of the state.
Minister Smt. Rajwade stated that the state government, with the support of social organizations, the corporate sector, and industrial houses, will make every possible effort for the holistic development and effective rehabilitation of children. She particularly emphasized that providing children in child care institutions with skill development, digital training, employment guidance, and opportunities for a self-reliant life is the need of the hour.
On this occasion, Axis Bank's India CSR in-charge, Regional Manager, Director from the organization Mr. Deepesh, State Head Mr. Jinesh, and other bank officials were present.
