Minister of Women and Child Development, Lakshmi Rajwade, conducted an inspection of the Seva Bharati Matru Chhaya Shishu Griha (Special Adoption Agency), a non-governmental organization located in the district. During the visit, she interacted with the children residing in the शिशु गृह, inquired about their well-being, and gathered information about the care facilities provided by the institution. Minister Rajwade spent time with the children, stating that the smiles on these innocent faces are their greatest inspiration. She emphasized that these children are the collective responsibility of everyone, and the state government is fully committed to their safe, healthy, and bright future.
During the inspection, the minister praised the organization’s efforts in the direction of child protection, nutrition, healthcare, education, and rehabilitation. She noted that such organizations working for adoptable children are the foundation of positive change in society. Seva Bharati Matru Chhaya Shishu Griha, a recognized special adoption agency, provides shelter, care, and a new family to abandoned, orphaned, and helpless children through a secure adoption process. The institution provides facilities related to nutrition, education, and health according to the age of the children.
Minister Rajwade directed the officials to provide technical and administrative support to such institutions from time to time so that children can have a better lifestyle. She also mentioned that the state government is constantly striving to make the adoption process transparent, sensitive, and simple. During the inspection, district-level officers of the Women and Child Development Department, members of the Child Protection Unit, and the director of the institution, along with many dignitaries, were present. All of them briefed the minister on the working and current status of the institution.
