Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade served invitation meal to children at Anganwadi centres, gifted Munga plants to mothers

Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade served an invitation meal to children at Anganwadi centres and gifted Munga plants to mothers. The ‘Angan Milan Seva’ programme was held in Nimoora and Dhusera of Abhanpur, with participation in godh bharai and annprashan ceremonies. Rajwade said that the connection of every family with Anganwadi will become a strength for better child nutrition. In Raipur, the Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister attended the Angan Milan Seva at the Nimoora and Dhusera Anganwadi centres in Abhanpur constituency. She interacted warmly with the children, distributed chocolates and provided nutritious food in the invitation feast. She participated in godh bharai for pregnant women and annprashan rites for young children, conveying best wishes to mothers and families. Under the Seva Sankalp campaign, the objective of Angan Milan Seva in the state’s Anganwadi centres is to increase family and community participation in child nutrition, maternal‑infant health and early childhood development. With this spirit, Minister Rajwade spent time with children, mothers and Anganwadi workers at both centres, discussing children’s interests and learning about nutrition and care activities conducted at the centres. She emphasized that children will stay healthy and learn well, securing a strong future, and that continuous engagement of families with Anganwadi centres is essential. She appealed to mothers to include locally available lentils, green vegetables and other nutritious foods in children's meals and to regularly utilise services offered by Anganwadi centres. She noted that godh bharai and annprashan occasions also serve as opportunities for families to discuss nutrition. During the programme, under the “Har Ghar Munga, Ghar‑Ghar Munga” campaign, Munga plants were planted within the Anganwadi premises. The minister presented Munga plants to mothers and women, encouraging them to plant them in home gardens or suitable nearby places and to care for them. She said Munga is a useful plant locally available, and by providing the plants to households and nutrition gardens, families can gain an additional source of nutritious food. She also informed women and villagers about the services and schemes of the Women and Child Development Department, stating that Anganwadi centres are not only places for children but also serve pregnant women, mothers and families by delivering nutrition, care and early education information. Active community participation can make these services more effective.
