A meeting of the state officials of the Chhattisgarh branch of the Loktantra Senani Sangh (Democracy Fighters Association) and Loktantra Prahari (Democracy Watchdog) concluded at the residence of the state president, Diwakar Tiwari. The meeting was presided over by Sachchidanand, the National Vice President of the Loktantra Senani Sangh. It was decided that on the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, the Loktantra Prahari, a partner organization of the Loktantra Senani Sangh, Chhattisgarh, will organize an essay competition at the state level for college students on the topic “June 25th: Why is it relevant as the Constitution Assassination Day?” and for school students on the topic “The Emergency Should Not Be Forgotten.” Vishal Rajhans, the state president of Loktantra Prahari, informed that students participating in the competition must submit a consent letter from their college or school principal. The essay competition will be held until June 30th, 2025. All contestants should forward their essays to the state office at “Upasane Niwas,” Professor Colony, Sector 3, Road 3, Waman Rao Lakhe Ward No. 66. Winners at both levels will receive prizes of Rs. 31,000, Rs. 21,000, and Rs. 11,000 respectively, and other insightful essays will receive encouragement awards.
Sachchidanand Upasane, the National Vice President of the Loktantra Senani Sangh, stated that, as in the previous year, on the anniversary of the Emergency, the democracy fighter families and satyagrahis of the state will be honored on June 26th at the invitation of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his residence. Democracy Watchdog officials will also be present at this event. The assembly will witness the presence of Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with all ministers of the state government and chairpersons of corporations and commissions, along with BJP officials. Ojaswi speakers will express their views on “50 Years of Emergency” and “Constitution Assassination Day.” Invited guests will also have meals with the democracy fighters. A decision was made at the meeting to release a booklet, “The Black History of the Emergency,” to make the public aware of how cruel the Emergency was. Diwakar Tiwari and Vishal Rajhans stated that the state and district units of the Loktantra Senani Sangh and Prahari will be reorganized, and a membership drive will be launched extensively across the state.

The vote of thanks was delivered by State President Diwakar Tiwari.
