Medical Education Department Meeting on Interns' Issues, Assurance to Consider Demand for Stipend Increase

Raipur, A significant meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Medical Education, Mr. Ritesh Agarwal, with IMA representatives and interns from various medical colleges. The main objective of the meeting was to discuss and resolve the issues faced by the interns.

*Demand for Stipend Increase*

During the meeting, interns put forth their primary demand for an increase in their stipend. The department assured that the government is taking all possible steps in the interest of the students and that the demand regarding interns' stipends is being seriously considered.

*Approval for Hostel Construction*

It was also informed in the meeting that hostels for students have been approved in almost all medical colleges in the current financial year's budget, which is a piece of great relief for the students.

*Appeal Not to Disrupt Health Services*

At the end of the meeting, an appeal was made to all present members that health services are directly linked to public welfare, and therefore, it should be ensured that services are not affected under any circumstances.

In the meeting, IMA-MSN Chhattisgarh coordinator, Mr. Shahdil Khusru, stated that today's meeting has proven to be an important and positive initiative towards solving the problem. Both parties agreed to continue the discussion in a positive atmosphere, and the meeting concluded in a positive environment. He expressed hope that a spirit of dialogue and cooperation will continue from both the administration and the interns, and a satisfactory solution to this problem will be found soon.

Interns from Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Smriti Medical College, Raipur (PT. JNM Raipur), Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur (CIMS Bilaspur), Government Medical College, Rajnandgaon (GMC Rajnandgaon), Government Medical College, Kanker (GMC Kanker), and Government Medical College, Ambikapur (GMC Ambikapur) were present at the meeting.
