Raipur – Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev SAI, the Mahatari Vandan Scheme, aimed at giving a new direction to women empowerment, is becoming a medium for positive change in the lives of millions of women in the state. Run by the Women and Child Development Department, this ambitious scheme provides women not only with regular financial assistance but also enables them to become self-reliant and play an important role in strengthening their families’ economic status. Mrs. Gyanvati Baiga from the village Tawadbara in Gaurala development block is an inspiring example. Mrs. Gyanvati Baiga runs a small coconut stall in front of Amleshwar Mahadev Temple to strengthen her family’s livelihood. The income from this business helps her meet daily household needs as well as successfully manage domestic responsibilities. For Gyanvati Baiga, who raises her family with limited resources, the Mahatari Vandan Scheme has emerged as a financial backbone. She said she has received the 29th instalment of the scheme. She used the amount to purchase necessary supplies for her coconut business, which gave continuous momentum to her small enterprise. Regular financial assistance has reduced her worry about capital for running the business and she can now work with greater confidence than before. Mrs. Gyanvati Baiga says the Mahatari Vandan Scheme has given her the belief to become economically empowered. Now she can manage both household expenses and her business more efficiently.
