Mahatari Sadan gives women's self-help groups a permanent platform, meetings and livelihood activities gain new momentum

Mahatari Sadan provides women's self-help groups with a permanent platform, and meetings and livelihood activities have gained new momentum. In Keresi, a Mahatari Sadan built as a center for women's empowerment and community participation. Raipur – under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Mahatari Sadan constructed in Keresi of Jaspur district has emerged as an effective empowerment centre for women's self-help groups. The building offers women a safe, convenient and permanent place for regular group meetings, livelihood activities and social programmes. Mrs. Babita Gupta, a member of a women’s self-help group, said earlier they faced many difficulties because there was no suitable venue for meetings; they had to meet at a member’s house, an open space or under a tree, and rain or heat affected the meetings and consequently the activities. She said that after the Mahatari Sadan was built, all members now meet regularly at the same place. Here the group discusses savings, loans, livelihood activities, training and other important topics in an organized manner, making the group's functioning more effective and increasing women’s participation. Mrs. Babita Gupta said that the Mahatari Sadan constructed under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has provided a permanent solution to a long-standing problem of women. They no longer worry about a venue for meetings and all activities are running smoothly. She expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, stating that the Mahatari Sadan is not just a building for women but a strong foundation for organization, self-reliance and social empowerment, offering women the opportunity to move forward in a new direction of development.
