Kanker Region Receives ₹8.5 Million for Infrastructure and Education
In a move aimed at accelerating development in the erstwhile Naxal‑affected belt, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai announced a total allocation of ₹8.5 million for the village of Lamkanhar in Antagarh block. The funds are earmarked for multiple projects: a community hall near the Shitala temple (₹1.5 million), new classrooms for primary and secondary education (₹3.7 million), the construction of a class‑C road in Chhota Para (₹1.8 million), and the establishment of a modern library and science laboratory for the Eklaavya Ideal Residential School (₹1.5 million).
The minister highlighted that the enhanced educational infrastructure will provide a better learning environment, modern equipment, and a safe space for community events. He also stressed that these investments reflect the government’s resolve to bring growth to the most remote tribal pockets, ensuring that every village and every citizen benefits from progress.
Attending the ceremony were local representatives, including MP Bhojraj Nag and Antagarh MLA Vikram Usendi, along with school students, teachers, and a large gathering of villagers. The event underscored the collaborative effort between state and central authorities to foster peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.
