'Kancare' brand builds identity for rural women

Raipur. Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan), women self-help groups have prepared the 'Kancare' brand which is rapidly creating its identity. This brand has become a symbol of the hard work, self-reliance and quality natural products of thousands of women of Kanker. Under the 'Kancare' brand, mustard oil, pigeon pea lentils, jaggery, honey, ragi, millet, corn, mango pickle and various organic and natural products are being prepared. These products, grown in the natural conditions of the Dandakaranya region, are completely pure, natural and of high quality. They are prepared by self-help groups using traditional and organic methods, without the use of chemical fertilizers. Because they are registered with the FSSAI, the quality and purity of the products are fully monitored. Currently, the 'Kancare' products are being distributed and sold through C-Mart and Kankeshwari FPC in local markets. They can be bought wholesale from a packaging unit set up in the district panchayat complex.
