Investigations Launched After Trailer Collision Claims Life of Young Biker in Chhattisgarh
Authorities have opened a formal investigation following a fatal crash that claimed the life of a young female motorcyclist on National Highway 30 near the Markatola Ghat in Purur, Chhattisgarh. The victim, identified as 24‑year‑old Riddhi Thakkar from Mumbai, was riding with a convoy of twenty bikers traveling from Raipur to Kanker when a commercial trailer, reportedly travelling at excessive speed, collided with her bike.
Eyewitnesses say the trailer’s sudden lane change left no room for the motorcyclist to avoid the impact. The collision threw Riddhi from her motorcycle, inflicting severe injuries that required immediate medical attention. After preliminary care at a Charama clinic, she was air‑lifted to Dhamtari’s Shri Ram Hospital, where doctors later confirmed her death.
Police officials have secured the crash site, collected evidence, and are reviewing footage from nearby CCTV cameras. They are also seeking to identify and locate the driver of the trailer, whose details remain unknown at this stage. The investigation will examine factors such as speed limits, vehicle condition, and possible driver fatigue, aiming to determine the precise cause of the tragedy and recommend measures to prevent similar incidents on the highway.
