Millions of beneficiaries of Matari Vandan Yojana along with all sections of society will participate

Distribution of saplings through Anganwadi centers, administration engaged in extensive preparations

Raipur, An innovative initiative is being taken in Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai to connect environmental protection with public participation. Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's ‘One Tree for Mother’ campaign, the ‘Matari Vandan Plantation Campaign’ will be organized for the first time in the state on July 30 with a massive plantation program. The objective of this unique campaign is to make plantation a mass movement by connecting women power with the great campaign of environmental protection.

In line with the Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s vision, the Balod district administration has started extensive preparations for this campaign. All concerned departments including Forest, Women and Child Development, Panchayat and Rural Development are working in coordination to make the campaign successful. Collector Mrs. Divya Umesh Mishra has instructed the officials to ensure active participation of approximately 2 lakh 45 thousand women benefiting from the Matari Vandan Yojana, as well as other interested women and all sections of society.

For the successful implementation of the campaign, free saplings are being distributed to the beneficiary women of the Matari Vandan Yojana and other interested women through Anganwadi centers. With the cooperation of Gram Panchayats, Anganwadi workers are reaching door-to-door to provide saplings, so that every woman can plant a sapling at her home, Anganwadi, or a suitable place on July 30. Women have also enthusiastically started preparations for this great campaign. Saplings required for plantation under the campaign are being provided free of cost. After plantation, beneficiaries will also be able to get a digital certificate for contributing to environmental protection by uploading their picture with the sapling on the designated selfie link.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is continuously encouraging public participation-based campaigns to realize the resolve of a Green Chhattisgarh. The ‘Matari Vandan Plantation Campaign’ will set a new example in the direction of environmental protection by becoming a wonderful confluence of women power, nature, and social responsibility.
