Innovative Initiative by Self-Help Groups in Sarangarh under VB-Jirangi, Distribution of 30 Thousand Seed Balls

Raipur, July 14, 2026/ Under the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) (VB Ji Ram Ji), women from self-help groups associated with the CLF cluster in Gram Panchayat Godam, Janpad Panchayat Sarangarh, of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, have prepared approximately 30,000 seed balls.

Seed Plantation Festival Celebrated by Forming Human Chains These seed balls were distributed to the Gram Panchayats falling under the cluster in the presence of the District Panchayat President, Collector, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, cluster Sarpanches, other officials, and sisters from self-help groups. During this time, everyone came together to form a human chain, celebrated the seed plantation festival, and conveyed the message of planting saplings and environmental conservation under VB Jirangi to the people.

Plantation to be Done on Embankments of Ponds and Water Bodies and Other Suitable Locations On this occasion, instructions were given that the seed balls will be used for planting on the embankments of ponds constructed under VB-Jirangi, embankments of water bodies, and other suitable locations, to enhance green cover, environmental conservation, and water conservation during the monsoon season.

Information Provided on Objectives of VB-Jirangi and Public Participation Based Development Works During the program, local representatives, officials, and villagers were also informed about the objectives of the VB-Jirangi scheme, water conservation, natural resource management, and development works based on public participation. Everyone was urged to actively participate in the campaign and make it a mass movement.
